Contemporary Textured Fiber Art Wall Hanging "Embossing"
This contemporary and abstract fibre art wall hanging is called "Embossing" (2021).
It is an extremely textured artwork, which is inspired by the surfaces and colours found in nature. This abstract design leaves the theme open to the viewer, but the main source of inspiration for the artwork came from the textures of fungi systems. I love the idea of everything being attached to the hidden layers. Due to its abstract design, this artwork can be hung both ways.
This artwork has taken part in many exhibitions and won the "Best in Show" award in the Envisions Art exhibition Textured in 2021.
As a fibre artist, I love experimenting with fibre to create more dimensional artwork. This is the reason I choose textiles over paint. This is also a reason why this artwork is unique and will add plenty of character to your living space.
PRODUCT INFO
This modern wall art is hand felted using the wet felting shibori technique with extra fine merino wool, silk fabric and natural fibre.
In this artwork, I mainly used different shades of natural colours such as creams, beiges, greys and terracotta colours.
The size of this work is 27.5 x 47.5 inches (70 x 120 cm) and it is on a wooden frame which is 1 inch thick (2,5 cm). It has got hooks for hanging solutions.My favourite medium at the moment is felting, because it allows me to experiment with surface design ideas.
